First scientific results of Simply Visio vision rehabilitation application are announced

First scientific results of Simply Visio vision rehabilitation application were announced at the “5th International Congress on Low Vision and the Brain” held in Berlin between November 30 and December 2, 2018.

The congress, supported by Glaucoma Research Foundation and presided by Prof. Bernard Sabel from Magdeburg University,  provided a platform for doctors and scientists from all around the world to share their recent research and innovations. The topics discussed ranged from brain reorganization and neuroplasticity to visual rehabilitation and neuropsychological interventions.

Dr. Murat Erbezci presented the Simply Visio application’s first results on patients with macular degeneration, which revealed significant improvement in their reading abilities  – and even in the visual acuities – of nearly all users. The results of the MNRead reading test performed after six-week exercises showed that the scores are better for all users. What was 0.75 logMAR on average, became 0.64 logMAR. Again, the number of letters they read at a distance in ETDRS visual acuity test increased from 37 to 45 for the right eye. The number of letters for the left eye increased from 24 to 32 after the exercises. The attendants of the conference gave a positive reaction to the presentation and several followed-up with more inquiries.
